Notes

Franziska´s B-day present for her 3rd birthday, due June 30th.

Edit: Total success! She carries it everywhere! sun_with_face

Having made two Asterisk star cushions, I´ll turn now to the original manifestation and will be making a sun pillow.

Yarn held double. Started out with the 2 strands of woolen sock yarn and after a couple of increases switched to 1 strand wool + cotton each. Freely alternating on each side.

Gives the cushion body a bit more of bling as is befitting a sun.
Plus it adds more optical interest.

No side zipper or inside cushion. Just filled up body before I knitted the cushion closed with the last sun “ray”. Everything fully washable as is a must when giving something to a small child.

A note on yarn choice for this one:
Original uses Aran weight - but there is no need for that. I produced something akin to Worsted weight and the cushion turned out big enough. Also no need to double the thread in the rays. I did not, worked out fine without.
