Suggestions for this pattern:
When making the edging in the beginning, which gets to be veeeeeeery long, I found it very helpful to roll it up with a ribbon or length of yarn stuck in the centre. That gives you a length of something to tie around your steadily increasing edging roll, to keep it all bound together.

At the very end, I was a bit confused about how the kitchener stitch should work. Just picture that you’re joining together the last parts of the triangle, having the stitch with the leading yarn on the very right of the back needle.

~~~
I noticed that the creative people of Brooklyn Tweed have a penchant of naming their patterns after characters of Final Fantasy VI -- so this shawl’s name is in reference to that lonely island you wake up in the World of Ruin.
~~~

The garter stitch part of the pattern is so easy that I felt it was safe enough to haul this project around to my classes. Never have I been complimented on the colour of the yarn so much! :D
