Notes

Yarn amounts used are for each individual pod.
Used DK weight yarn in all cases.

Used 2 strands of yarn in all cases.

I’ve made several of these little pod/papooses to put teddies in for markets and Christmas gifts.

I made one small one first to test the pattern.
This was made exactly to pattern and with a 5mm hook and turned out rather small!
So it has a 4.5 inch teddy inside slightly_smiling_face

The other pods all contain a 10 inch teddy.

They vary in size between 10 inches and 12 inches as yarn (although all DK) varied in thickness, with Knitting Essentials yarn working up a fair bit larger than Sirdar Snuggly.

In order to get the right size pod (or slightly larger) for a 10 inch teddy, I went up to a 6mm hook and also added stitches to the pattern:

Began with 14 DC (including ch3) instead of 12.
This meant that, with increases, each row went up in size:
28; 42; 49; 42 stitches for main rows.

This is an easy and quick pattern to follow.
Love it!
