Notes

11 December 2016. I took some brown Tonalita (sadly discontinued) out of stash, and cast on tonight. Day 1 is finished. The runs of color are shorter than Noro, say, which is good, and the yarn is working well with the pattern so far.

12 December. Completed through Day 5.

13-15 December. Took a break to knit a hat for one of my coworkers. Red Hat for NY

16 December. I started crocheting again tonight, and I am on Day 15. This is a delightful crochet project. I am enjoying every clue!

The cluster directions took me a while to figure out tonight. I kind of wish there were charts as well as written instructions.

26 December. Since it was plenty long enough, I skipped Day 27, and worked the border, finishing it this morning before lunch. Well, there are still ends to work in, and blocking to do, but the crochet is done!

29 May 2019.
It has been a joy to revisit this project, to bathe it, and block it. Melinda Miller truly created a masterpiece for Advent 2016.

I’ve worn it, as it came off my hook, during the past couple of years. So has my daughter, Hillary (this is the scarf she always asks to wear when it is cold outside!)

The self-striping Tonalita presents differently in crochet than it does in knitting. There is no comparison intended here, no criticism both are lovely! but just a little different.
