Notes

The written pattern in English is not perfect (some stitches that are skipped are not noted as such in rows 1-8) but I’m grateful to have it as I can’t really read a chart.
15 November. Now I’m making progress! Using the Dutch pattern is helping a lot - it’s much more reliable than the English translation. It’s got a chart too but I’m ignoring it.

Just finished the fourth ball of wool and going well. I did realise about a week ago that I’d used the wrong size crochet hook 4 instead of 4.5 as recommended. Hmm. Maybe that’s why it’s still looking a bit narrow - though long…

Last night I stopped repeating the two pattern sets and started with the edging. It’s a UK double crochet (vasten in the Dutch translation I’m using) all the way around, with added chains (losse in the Dutch translation) on the rounded edge. Seems to be going ok! I’m going to be sad when this shawl is finished, as I’m not sure what to tackle next.

Found I was closer to the end than I’d thought and finished quickly except for blocking. Eek.
