11-5-19 - Another bag down! A first for me, in many ways!

So, again, using a strap I had woven some time ago, I’ve made another bag. I zigzagged the ends, then zigzagged the straps together. The strap was rather thick, and a bit loosely woven, and the chevrons made a longish float on the reverse side. So I decided to add some interfacing, just to keep things in order, to prevent any snagging or distortion. I also lined this, and added a zipper. It was very thick to sew on the machine, but I made it through!

I used a 12” zipper, cut away the extra, and used a fusible interfacing on the woven fabric. There are things I would do differently next time, but overall, not bad for my first zippered bag!

My daughter is interested in this one! Which is great, because I originally wove the band with her in mind. I just didn’t do anything with it until now.
