Shark Bite Slipper Socks
Knitted then felted.

Felting turned out to be a mistake. The structure at the ankle needs to be stretchier than the felting allows for the slipper to go easily on and off the foot. The next version will have to be knitted to size.

I ended up adapting my basic worsted weight toe-up sock design. Knit on two circular needles with two colors. Main color knit in the round from toe to start of heel, then adding white for the heel on separate needle continuing back and forth for each color’s side and wrapping strands at seams to keep sock joined, finally separating the colors at the side seams for the open mouth up the leg. Picot edge around the mouth to add teeth.

Didn’t include a tail. Shark caudal tail fins are vertically oriented and a full fin on the sock would squash sideways when standing up and make it uncomfortable. The fluke whale-type tail of the Funny Shark Slippers is a very cute compromise. But my hubby is a zoologist and a fluke on a shark wouldn’t pass without critical comment, so the tail fin was left out of this design. Imagine that the top-half of the shark is coming up out of the water to nip your tootsies.

May add the top-half of the caudal fin over the toes in v2.
Also, will try a rounded and longer nose for v2.
