It’s finally happening!
I’ve bought the pattern a long time ago, but I kept starting other projects.
It’s been difficult to find the right yarn and I have made many many swatches, because of the huge difference in gauge between stockinette and brioche.
I’m very happy with the gray yarn, it’s exactly the shade I wanted.
November/December is not the best time for working on complex yoke pattern, I made some mistakes and had to perform some ‘stitch surgery’ to fix them.
I’ve swatched for the CC and chose the fuchsia LG CWB.
Casting on: crochet cast-on 4,0mm needles, one row of stockinette (because I don’t know how to attach an i-cord to live reverse brioche)

Sleeve cuffs: 22 brp rows. Needle 2,25mm, might go up for body ribbing.
Might redo cuffs with hand dyed and attach with Kitchener’s stitch.
Swatching with hand dyed: very cool effect.
Tulip pattern pulls together, size up to 2,75mm needles and then restart pattern with 3,25mm
Before: roughly 22 st, 25 rows per 10cm
After: Difficult to measure. I think 2,5 or 2,75mm will be best for pattern.
One row of brk-k on 4,0mm.
4st i-cord bindoff with 4,5mm needles and alternating skeins. It’s a bit too loose.
Swatch with LG CW fuchsia, with 2,5mm:
Before: 22,5 st, 29 rows per 10cm
After: 20,5 st, 28 rows
Misunderstood pattern for neckline.
Bindoff with 3st i-cord on 3,5mm needles: a little tight, hopefully stretchy enough for collar

Casting on for body. Hopefully I will be at the stockinette in two weeks, so I can knit that on the train to my couse for work.
Doing the brioche on 2,5mm

I’m probably too tired from work and all the December madness to be working on the brioche flowers. Did the decreases slanting in the wrong direction in 13 places, for which I performed some pretty complex stitch surgery. I also had to frog most of the neckband, because I misunderstood the brioche instructions and accidentally invented my own stitches.
