Notes

The first part of the pattern is quite complex, but it’s actually very relaxing after joining in the round.

I love the result!

I’ve made size M. Chest measurement matches the example exactly: 90cm.

I’ve knitted the stitch pattern backwards.

Swatching.
Italian cast-on works nicely, but one side has gaps; must put that at the back.
My straight needles are very blunt, so I will just use my circulars needles.

Gauge on 4,0mm, sloppy:
Before washing: 22st, 35 rows
After washing: 21st,

Gauge on 3,5mm, much neater:
Before washing: 23st, 40 rows
After washing: 22 st, 36-40 rows

I like the stitch pattern better on the wrong side… Might switch up the order of the pattern.

Also, the border is messy, especially on the left side (end of RS rows). Knitting regular purls doesn’t really help. Will probably need manual adjustments on every row.

Cast-on is complex. Learned after 2nd try: needs to be 116st + starting loop, start casting on a purl!
I’m going to try skipping the second row with slipped stitches and I really need to watch my tension: not too tight on the first row of actual rib!

Stitch gauge is good, row gauge slightly smaller. Might need an extra repeat in the straight sections.

Recently joined in the round.
I think I got the hang of it, but still needed to adjust some stitches because of uneven tension.

I’ve considered waist shaping, but I’m not going to do it.

I forgot to make progress photos.

I am totally loving the result up to now!

Fitting: needs one or two repeats of the pattern before the ribbing. Placed marker at length of fitting
