Notes

This is a top-down construction with a provisional cast on of stitches for the thumb. Very intriguing pattern and sweet look. Goes with the boot liners.
It is not a difficult pattern, but not for a beginner either. You need to know 3-needle-join and provisional cast on (both is not hard to learn; and fun).

The following project notes just show how important it is to read instructions carefully (and not jump to conclusion).
There was no errata: Following the instructions for the mitt you will not end up with a picot edge (as in the picture). Row 14 of the cuff which is named Picot rnd is a repeat of k2tog, YO and will give you a lovely eyelet row. I am not sure now if I should stick with the pattern or picture… That’s what I thought
I e-mailed the designer and she was very gracious in pointing out that I had not finished reading the pattern:

Hi Doris,
The gloves have a “picot hem”, which if you read under the finishing instructions, you are to fold the hem under along the Picot round, then sew in place on the WS. Here is a good tutorial: http://knitting-crochet.wonderhowto.com/how-to/knit-picot...

Best,
Pam Powers

Thank you, Pam!

This said, I want to make sure that everyone is aware of a correction on the left mitt: Pattern correction.
