Notes

One of our nephews was approved to adopt a baby; so I better get going grin
Since I have two skeins of this color, this will be a nice big blankie. I am planning to make it a rectangle rather than a huge square by keeping the same stitch count once I have reached the desired width.
This project comes at a good time while I am still recuperating from rotary cuff surgery ( right shoulder) and this will get me into knitting nice and easy.

After each blossom stripe, I knit two rows ( one garter ridge on each side) and then knit a row of eyelet (2tog, YO).

At 28 inches (150 sts total), I start with what I call the middle section for my rectangle when I keep the same st count by working these two rows:
1) k3, YO , k to end
2) k2, k2tog, YO, k2tog, k to end

My target size is 28”x 37”

Using up some scraps of the same yarn in blue and yellow left from two previous corner to corner blankets. I like how it adds a pop of color.
I am making good headways, knitting a few rows at a time while sitting on the deck at our son’s and dog-sitting. I really had a good time until I realized that I had messed up I ended up with three sts too many. It was right where I made the little color section and considering my sore shoulder, I simple did a few extra decreases to be back at 150 sts. It really is OK. I have to pay more attention and knit mindfully and slowly.

I am starting on what I call Part III; decreasing on both ends to build the final triangel.

Ready to start on a green heart in the final corner.
I will be knitting this in intarsia using the chart from EZ Mosaic Heart Hat.
