This is an extremely well written pattern with new techniques to learn and tricks to use to make your potholder look perfectly beautiful.
This looks like such a fun and pretty pattern.
I can’t help but smile when I see daisies and who doesn’t need a little smiley fun during this pandemic?!
The pattern is written clearly and detailed with step by step photo tutorials and links to instructional videos. There are a lot of different techniques to learn or revisit. Sybil Ra has really outdone herself with this one AND I am the lucky recipient of a gifted copy ( but happily would have paid).
I am looking forward to this since my other project is very simple knitting in the round right now and I do want a little challenge.
I bought the yarn almost two years ago in Croatia. The peach and hot pink was supposed to be for sweaters for my sister and me, but that project was put on hold when I broke my wrist.
Since this is Sport weight yarn and the pattern says to use a needle size smaller than the yarn usually calls for, I will use a US#0 needle.
July 9: I thought to get started and knit a few rows, but could not put this down until I finished one petal. My advice: Read the pattern thoroughly before starting, especially the techniques section as you will need to refer to it throughout the pattern.
I will probably knit one petal a day.
July 13 : This pattern is addictive and it is impossible to knit just one wedge a day. I have done 10 wedges so far. All awhile a German jingle runs through my head. You recite it while plucking out daisy leaves to see if you are loved.
From my Facebook page:
As I knit petal after petal on my Daisy Potholder, a little German jingle runs through my mind. It is recited as you pluck out the petals of a daisy to see if you are loved.
„ Er liebt mich, vom Herzen, mit Schmerzen, ein wenig oder gar nicht“.
“ He loves me, from the bottom of the heart, with pain, a little bit, not at all.”
May YOU feel loved today by friends, family , yourself and a higher power, God.
How Important it is to feel loved!
July 16 : I knitted 14 petals just like TassieKnitter. Just need to graft now.
