One strand of each held together throughout instead of stripes.
The white, blue and gray yarns are homespun from a friend’s sheep farm.
12.3. First three bowls are done and I am very pleased with them.
This is what I ended up doing:
Simmer in boiling water with a slash of vinegar for a couple of hours.
Wash and dry with some other laundry in the machine.
Machine wash a second time with a load of towels and air dry stuffed with plastic bags.
I am very pleased with the outcome and will make more.
Second batch of bowls For my second batch of bowls I took somewhat of a leap of faith and went through my stash, pulling out any bulky weight yarn ( often single skeins or balls which were given to me without a label ). Using a few I believe to be 100% wool. Working the smaller size bowls.

Just felting in the machine
When I got to my third batch of bowls, I no longer pre-felted them by boiling, but simply added them in the washing machine with any load on hot. Took two to three washes depending on which wool I used. 100 wool roving- like yarn seems to be the best choice such as Haciendo Plymouth yarn or another one which came without label.
