Perfect pattern to use up the yarn I used for the sweatshirt and knit a matching hat.

As a refresher I watched Suzanne Bryan’s video on the German Twisted Cast on. I like hers the best, because she shows how it is all in the flexibility of your left thumb to get this done efficiently.

Even with the stretchy CO it seems a bit tight, but I am almost half way done in just one day and keep going. If it is too tight as a hat, I will offer to undo the crown shaping and perhaps it can be worn as a cowl.
I also got mixed up with MC and CC, but since it’s reversible it’s fine.

9.12. After just one day I got to the crown decreases, but I am also almost out of the blue (mystery) yarn and I know I have some more of that as I gave some to my husband to tie up his tomatoes, but he cannot find the ball of yarn I gave him, so now we have to search and wait.

9.13. Found the extra yarn last night in hubby’s pocket and got up early Sunday morning to finish the hat.
Instead of cutting the CC yarn I used both strands ( MC and CC) to weave through the remaining twelve stitches. I felt that this made it stronger and easier to weave in both yarn ends.
I did find two dropped stitches, one while knitting and one after I finished. I was able to secure them easily, but have to pay more attention at my sssbrk and brk3tog.
Will be making more of these, looks stunning, it’s fun to knit and not too difficult.
