I wanted some covers for the armrests of my armchair and had this sock yarn in my stash, waiting to be knitted up into socks, but decided that it is such a good color match for the chair covers.

Step 1: CO with #3 needle, then switch over to #4 and keep repeating the beginning instructions to a 3.5” diameter ; 1.75” radius which at a gauge of 10 rows per inch came to 18 rounds; 60 stitches.

Step 2: knitting up a rectangle for over the armrest.
Using the I-cord cast on ( very pink knits has a simple video instruction https://youtu.be/KxNtbWYXrvg?si=Gp03iCExUaDEIkaH) , I cast on two times 70 sts for approximately 10” each. To mimic the eyelet in the front rounds, I work k2tog, YO ten sts apart in a diagonal.
The length will be determined by when I almost run out of yarn.

Step3: The last step is to combine the rectangles and circles.

12.29. I was knitting along when I suddenly panicked that I have enough yarn to finish and did a I-cord bind off on a needle one size larger ( US #5). But undid it when I saw that the edge flips up rather than laying nice and flat.

1.2.2024 Blocking the rectangles on top of each other to a length of 15.5” and the rounds to a diameter of 3.75”

Seamed and I attached a length of yarn to the chair to hold down the outer far corner.

I like how it came out, very pleased.
