February 18 Embroidered the flowers on the pockets and single crochet the sides of the pockets for a decorative and secure seam.

And it’s finished and I am very happy with it.

February 11: For the pockets I worked 11 rows of stockinette stitch and 4 rows of ribbing.
I am considering to embroider a Daisy on each pocket as I had seen on a cardigan by Nicky Epstein
( see my exchange with her on Facebook in one of the pictures).

February 5th : Buttons are sewn on.

January 31 : seven rows of ribbing on the cuffs and all the seaming done; I love the fit; just what I was aiming for.

January 24: Worked the collar and right and left button bands. I picked up 108 sts due to my changes and placed five one stitch button holes in the eighth row ( every eighth stitch). I got some nice 1 1/8 inch buttons at a local antique store for just $3.
When binding off, I did a stretchy BO around the collar and regular BO along the button bands.
Now on to the long seams for body and sleeves since I worked the sleeves flat.
Then I will work the cuff ribbing in the round to desired length.

Working on this on and off as I am not a huge fan of big needles, even #15, but I like how it is coming along.

January 2023 Finally started.
Changes:
1) 68 rows to shoulders and neck bind off, then 68 rows for left and right fronts for a shorter length in my gauge ( 23” instead of 30” length in pattern according to the gauge on #17’s).

2) Will knit the sleeves flat to the cuffs , then seam body and sleeves in one long seam and knit the cuffs in the round.

Got the yarn just as the Loopy Mango store in Rhinebeck was closing. Got the book, too for the pattern and promptly spend 20 minutes copying all the errata into the book.

Planning on using a smaller needle for an overall less oversized look and will make the sleeves more narrow; less “blousy”.

I have been thinking about this cardigan for a long time…I bought the yarn in summer, then went to visit with family in Europe for close to two months, then upon our return it was time for Holiday and Gift knitting, but after the holidays I am planning to tackle this one.

I also found some nice looking buttons at an antique store and thinking to use a bit of a Lacy stitch as in the bandana cowl by SybilRa.
