Notes

This yarn is thin and knitted with size 6 needles so I cast on 51 stitches for the cloth. It came out really nice. I couldn’t find a good pattern for the soap sack so I just made it up using the same stitch as for the cloth. I cast on 17 stitches, knitted 2 together on the 5th row and knit 1, yarn over, knit two together on the 6th row then followed the stitch pattern until I reached twice the length of a bar of soap and repeated the knit together and kit 1 yarn over. I crochet the seams together which I thought made it look nice and makes it lay flat better. For the cord I made a really long i-cord. Some thoughts about the soap bag: Someone suggested to use really large needles as I was running out of yarn and that way I wouldn’t have had to buy more yarn, but that wouldn’t really have made a good bag. The whole idea is to put your soap or even bits of soap in the bag and then lather up. I find it especially useful with handmade soaps which seem a little brittle at times and break into pieces, but keep well in the bag till the last bit has been used up. It’s a nice way of mixing soaps, too :) This set is going to be a gift with some bubble bath etc added. I wish I had time to knit some slippers to go along with it.
