I made the smaller version to make it into a coaster as described in my previous project “the almost lost coaster“ and I knitted it without the points, just round.
CO 10 sts
row 1: k10
row 2: k to 2 sts remaining, turn
row 3: k 8
row 4:k to 4 sts remaining, turn
row 5: k 6
row 6: k to 6 sts remaining, turn
row 7: k 4
row 8: k to 8 sts remaining, turn
row 9: k 2
row 10: k 10

repeat rows 1-10 14 times changing yarn colors if desired.

In my coaster I changed colors this way:
A,B,A,C,B,C,B,A,B,C,B,C,A,C.
A: Country Green, B: Ecru, C: Guacamole
