Notes

Came across this pattern just when I wondered what to knit next. A nice project, sort of to cleanse my palate before moving on to my next bigger project.
I didn’t have enough of one color, so I am switching between two shades of yellow every 12 rows.
I like the textured feel and geometric look of this stitch and am thinking to use it on a cushion cover next.
Oh, and if you wonder what happened on my second pattern repeat: I have absolutely no idea. I possibly went through the second instead of the first Purl stitch… And although I noticed it early on and could have taken the rows out, I simply thought that it doesn’t really matter. We all mess up at times, the important thing is to keep going and yes, sometimes it’s good to go back and fix things, but I decided not to. Life is what it is.
Changes I made: I slipped the first and the last stitch of every knit row to get a nice selvage edge on both sides.
After knitting the desired length, I picked up sts on one corner for a wide band with buttonhole and attached a button to the corner of the dish towel. This way I can hang it up on my stove.
I used the directions from the mitered hanging dish towel for the strap. Because I was running out of yarn, so I tried first to do the loop with a single strand of yarn, but that turned out not sturdy enough and I doubled the yarn with a third color, a yellowish green. Also instead of using garter st, I continued with the pretty twisted stitch pattern, flipping RS and WS after the turning rows.
Final thought after using it for a few days:
I like the size and shape of it better than the mitered dish towel.

3.21. Started on a second towel as a gift in the blue-grey.
3.29. Blocking this one. Lily Sugar n Cream feels actually a tad thinner than Pishgah Peaches and Cream although looking at the yarn labels that doesn’t make sense. They are both 4-ply and Lily sugar n Cream is actually 1 gram heavier per 120 yards.
