Decided to make a store sample of one of the patterns in the booklet. The booklet “Scandinavian Caps for the guys” by Cottage Creations has one basic pattern instruction with several different designs and finishes; in all 11 designs. At $7 for the booklet it’s a real bargain.
I decided on the Mile’s cap and will work it in two instead of five colors. The Cascade Sports yarn gives me a correct gauge on US 4 needles.
I am glad to get the practice working with two colors. I used to do it more, but seemed to have lost my bearings. Working on this hat finally brought it all back to me and my preferred method is to hold both yarns, one on top of the other, in my left hand. I am now to a speed of doing a two color row at the same rate as a single color stockinette :)
The directions for the tassel wasn’t very clear, but I made it best I could. It is different to how I usually make tassels, but that is probably on account of that this is for a hat and needs to look the same from all angles, whereas I usually make tassels for flat blankets.
