Section 3 completed on May 25th and debating between staying with the original pattern and doing the larger size for 97cm. I think my gauge may be a bit tighter though so I will go for the larger size.

I love shimashima428’s Ranunculus 大きなサイズ and will probably follow her mods too!

June 1st

Body finished! Did 20cm of stockinette measured from under arms and 12cm of twisted rib at the bottom. Unblocked it fits nicely, not too much positive ease but roomy and comfortable. Hopefully blocking will make the bottom rib sit straighter as it looks like it’s pulling a bit.

Glad I went for the 97cm pattern! My gauge was approximately 16sts/10cm so much tighter than the pattern calls for.

Bound off in pattern using a 7mm dpn so it wouldn’t be too tight.

June 4th

Left sleeve finished. Because yoke was much shallower than the pattern calls for due to tight gauge, added 3 extras stitches to the sleeve, for 56 sts total.

Knit for 82 rnds to bring the sleeve length to 36-37cm, again due to shallow yoke. Definitely is more fitted than the sample images where it looks like the sleeves start at almost waist level!

Did the diagonal cuffs. For prep of moving the BOR marker, K12 instead of 10sts. And compensated for the additional sts during the GSR rows #1 and #11 by having the turn happen at 8 sts before marker instead of 5 sts.

Last mod for the sleeve was to do a 4 st i-cord b.o. instead of 5 st as my yarn was a bit thicker than pattern and didn’t want the i-cord to be too big. Glad I did, love it!
