Firstly thank you to Gosio for providing this pattern for free: Baltic Breeze a Lace shawl for year round wear.

It adds a touch of cozieness we sometimes crave and is equally wearable on the weekend, at the office or going to a party. I like it’s versatility because - as a lot of work goes into knitting this lace shawl - so that I would like to show it off at as many occasions as possible.

When it comes to material I recommend to use a solid to semisolid colorway as I feel the lace pattern will get lost in a multicolored skein - as pretty as they are I think lace should be the hero.

The original yarn is discontinued, here is what I am thinking about: ITO Sensai held with ITO KinGin to add glamour. Alternatively add ITO Shio - tone on tone - to increase drape and intensify color.

The original used 1000 m to create a shawl sized 220 cm x 100 cm. The ITO yarn combinations resemble less:
ITO Shio / Sensai comes to 960 m
ITO Sensai / KinGin tallies at 900 m

The original size with 200cmx100cm is quite substantial I think you still end up with a generously sized shawl without creating an abundance of leftovers.
