Notes

Used 28g of blue and 26 g of green ~ 75 m and 69 m. Opted not to make a strap. Eight repeats total of the pattern rows. To make sure my buttons were on the same spot on both sides I sewed them together to the fabric.

Loved learning a new technique. I had a few confused moments at the beginning, and I’d warn other newcomers not to set the project down without making careful note of which row they’ve finished. I had to frog a repeat and three quarters when I discovered a mistake, and had several false starts before finally getting back on the right row of the pattern.

In the finishing, when making the B coloured border, there ought to be a “Turn” at the end of Rnd 1, which there isn’t.

I thought the colours were high contrast, but now that I’ve finished, I’m not convinced that the difference is of the right quality to make the two patterns distinct enough. Perhaps yellow with the blue would have worked better, but this was from stash. I wonder if I’ve now used up all the blue.

If I’d used a smaller hook perhaps the fabric would be less holey and make better sense as a purse. Perhaps next time.

I notice this makes similar things as slip stitch knitting, as in my mosaic felted project. Felting one of these should be interesting.
