Reclaimed yarn from a sweater and skirt project from 2019 turned into a functional garment for my daughter and vest for her son.
Crochet pattern:
Hook N
Row1: sc, ch 1, SC to last st, SC.
Row 2: sc, sc, ch1, sc.. rep from to last 2 sts, 2 sc.
Rep rows 1 and 2 for pat
Gauge for St st on US11:
St: 12/4”
R: 18/4:
Collar: pup 48 sts, Inc 2 on R1.
K3, p2, k2 to last 3 sts, k3.
Work flat for 6 rows in ribbing. 1 purl row, 6 rows st st. Graft collar using kitchener stich.

Pocket: US 11, cast on 17 stitches with Caron cake yarn, K 32 rows in Stockinette stitch.. last row k with 2 strands of orange. Do not BO. Cut long tail to attach pocket to WS of jacket.
Sleeves:
K flat from cuff to shoulder. 12 rows of k2, p2 rib followed by 76 rows of St st. 17”. Added 2” in length.
Inc: k1, kfb, k to last 3 sts, kfb, k2. Inc row every 8th row 3 times then every 10th row 2 times.
Sl st around arm hole w/ J hook. 44 sl sts.
Live sts grafted around armhole throughfront loop of sl st.
Seams of sleeves: ws facing, used H hook to loosely sl st 1 leg of selvage sts tog from underarm to cuff, ch 1, without cutting yarn turn sleeve to RS.
W/ I hook sl st into ea horizontal V from cuff to underarm. This forces the seam to lay flat and removes bulk.
Stabilized zipper front and hem with sl st using J hook.
