Notes

I love the idea of turning reclaimed yarn into a functional beautiful wearable garment. I also really wanted to combine crochet with knitting in my designs. This is my 4th garment combining crochet and knitting.

Worsted weight yarn. Combined 3 strands to make yarn wt when using the pink, purple or teal.

Some of the yarn was gifted to me years ago from a young friend. The purple I had in stash from a thrift store find a year back, and the yellow was reclaimed from a garment I made before covid. It was takingup space in my closet.

My First idea was to crochet Granny Squares for the garment. I didn’t like the look. It did not say “Audrey”. Then I thought about using the same st pattern I used for her mom and little brother. Loved the light and airy feel of the fabric. Audrey’s favorite color is pink but I didn’t have enough of it for a whole garment. Purple and Teal looked great with the yellow too. I love the scrappy result. I just need to figure out the button band.

Drop shoulder design, crocheted flat and knit flat, in pieces, bottom up. Pieces seamed together with 3 needle Bind off at the shoulders and side seams.

Hook I/9, Crocheted back and 2 front panels bottom up.
