I’ve worked this enjoyable pattern five times so far with several yarns. I used Size 6 needles with sport weight, Size 10 needles with worsted weight, and Size 10½ needles with a heavier worsted.

The central panel is a 38-row pattern repeated until the scarf reaches the length desired.

Row 3: As row 1.

Row 4: Rib 4 sts. (Inc 1 st in next st. Rib 4 sts) 5 times. Inc 1 st in next st. Rib 4 sts. 40 sts.

Proceed in pat as follows:

Row 1: (RS) K2. P1. Work 1st row of Panel Pat B. P1. Work 1st row of Panel Pat A. P1. Work 1st row of Panel Pat C. P1. K2.

Row 2: K3. Work 2nd row of Panel Pat C. K1. Work 2nd row of Panel Pat A. K1.Work 2nd row of Panel Pat B. K3.

Panel Pats A, B and C are now in position. Cont even in pat, keeping cont of Panel Pats until work from beg measures ~60 in 152.5 cm, ending with Row 2 of Panel Pat A.
