My first hat!!!

This hat is knitted flat on strait needles and then the edges are joined with the tail. I flipped the brim up and put a little bee button on it.

I was hanging out with a friend when she suddenly realized that she was supposed to pick up her husband and go to a Doctor’s appointment. So rather then waiting for them at the office I told them to drop me off at Velona. I talked to the nice lady there and explained my predicament. I told her I wanted to try and make a hat. She suggested several “kits” she had, which were mostly one-skein pattern that came paired with a skein of the suggested yarn. (Basically you’re buying the yarn and you get a copy of the pattern for free.)

I went to a nearby Starbucks and had finished knitting by the time my friends were done with their appointment. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a hook with me to draw the tail through and complete the hat… I tried to be clever and borked it up. So I frogged it all.

This morning I cast on again and was done before the show I was watching ended! With my trusty light-up crochet hook I joined the ends and POOF! I have a totally cute little hat!

I was going to give this to a friend, but it’s so cute… I may just keep it for myself.

This pattern is super simple and if you do it once you pretty much have it memorized. I highly recommend it.
