This yarn is way better for a gansey than I feared, It’s not fluffy at all.
Changes made- knitting back and front in the round til the shaping starts. Going to pick up and knit the sleeves because sewing things together is dumb.

Well… I forgot to put in armholes! I am a few rows from the end of the front/back tube and damn if I am reknitting the chest up. Took a break to make the sleeves, then I’ll steek (is it a steek if you didn’t plan it and put in extra stitches? I have no idea) the armholes. Doing the sleeves first so I know how big to make the cut. So. Stupid. It’ll be fine though.

Welp, it’s done and it came out great. I REALLY made it a pain in the butt though- planning to knit the body all in one piece then PUAK the sleeves… lol ended up having to reinforce, cut steeks, sew on sleeves… SO MUCH SEWING UP. I hate sewing up even more than blocking. Also, the teensy 50g balls of yarn meant so many ends to weave in.
But I did it and it is really nice. Recipient loves it too which is all that matters, I’m really pleased it’s done.
Knitting lace is fun- and then the end result usually goes in a drawer. Knitting simple things like this is no fun but the product sees daily use, so the gratification comes later!
