My mum brought some lovely sarongs from Indonesia. Some of them with very elaborate designs. But one of them has a very simple design, that I like very much. It inspired me to make these socks.

13 March 2009: Finished!

10 March 2009: Finished the first sock, except for the afterthought heel. I’ll do that when I’ve finished both socks.

6 March 2009: I’ve decided to stick to the colours of the original sarong for this first pair of socks. I’ll make another pair in more ‘daring’ colours later ;-)
Today I cast on and started knitting the foot of the first sock. I’m quite excited about how it looks. It’s just as I imagined it would. I like it very much.
