When I flipped through the new Amano Patternbook Vol. 4, I kept coming back to the Alma Cardigan, one of twelve designs in this book by Martha Wissing.

Alma is an open front cardigan that promises a very comfortable fit with great drape. Comfy, but dressy enough to pass as business attire. In short … perfect for many occasions.

I shared my impressions with fellow knitters and others showed interest. Then, I saw the yarn at my LYS, and the rest is history, as they say. The sport weight yarn is super soft. It does not have the fuzzy character that you’ expect from over 55% Alpaca, but it looks and feels like a perfect, smooth late winter / early spring yarn. The almost 20% of Pima Cotton support that idea.
