While this project is named “Country Heart”, the design includes possibilities for many circumstances, from heartful holidays like Valentine’s or Mother’s Day, to “just for fun”.

For this heart we’ve chosen once more a skein of Caron x Pantone, this time in “Purple Pops”. One skein is enough to make the heart as pictured, with some leftovers.

You will need:
TinyTURTLE (2″) loom
1 skein Caron® x Pantone™ “Purple Pops”
weaving tools
crochet hook, US J/10 or hook size to work the border evenly

Caron® x Pantone™ “Purple Pops” color code:
C1 — orchid ice 13-3406
C2 — lavender mist 16-3307
C3 — ultra violet 18-3838
C4 — burnished gold 16-0737
C5 — legion blue 19-4324

Weave:
5 hexagons in C1
9 hexagons in C2
11 hexagons in C3

Assemble:
Using whip stitch, sew the hexagons together to shape the heart. Use the photos to guide you.

Crochet Border (use detail photo for guidance):
Rnd 1: Starting anywhere, join C5 and sc around: Work 3-4 sc along each hexagon side. Work 3 sc into the tip of the heart, 2 sc into each of the other “corners”. End with a sl st into the first sc, connecting C4 for the next rnd.
Rnd 2: Chain 4, sl st into first ch (makes 1 picot). Ch 1. Skip 2 stitches and work a sl st into the next st. Repeat all around (it will automatically adjust to the rounds and crevices). End with a sl st into the bottom of the first picot. Bind off.
Weave in all ends.
Block as desired.

Use as table topper or pillow applique on a throw pillow of your choice.

You can’t just have one heart … so here are a few more ideas:

• Use different color runs of Caron x Pantone
• Use the original TURTLE Loom (4″) or even the TexaTURTLE (6″) to make the same heart, just larger.
• (see graphs) Add more hexagons to make larger hearts … weave hexagons in many tones of red/pink/white … make a scrap yarn heart !
• Put a border of hexagons around the heart it to make an afghan!
