Notes

To practice one of the dip stitches that we learned in the second class of Rowan’s Summer Class 2026 with Wolly Wormhead which was titled “Two-Colour Dip Stitches” I chose the Woolly Wormhead pattern Diponaea. I also wanted to try out my first Woolly’s pattern.

The pattern simply blew me away: The construction uses short rows to shape the hat in a stunning way, resulting in a perfect fit, and at the same time allowing to conveniently implement pattern knitting. Wow!

I took the challenge of making the hat fully reversible, which means weaving in ends … which - being a pin-loom weaver - I don’t mind joy

I knitted the smallest size to fit my head, and I skipped one repeat in the pattern to achieve more of a beanie style.

Brilliant pattern.
