Yes, I went rogue and used yarn from one of my favorite Indie dyers and friend Becky at Chaos Fiber Co!

The “Black Cat” fascinated me, because it is an “almost” black yarn that is still comfortable to work with.

For the leaves, I wanted to try a variegated yarn, and because the Merlin is thinner than the DK, I decided to hold a strand of mohair all the way along with it. No regrets here! The little halo is beautiful.

The pattern is definitely a keeper. Stranded color-work in the round is very relaxing. The decreases are worked to integrate perfectly into the pattern … gotta love it.
