Notes

All swatched and blocked and ready to go.

I will use US5/3/75mm ChiaoGoo to get gauge.

I plan to make size 50 1/2, since the recommended ease is 4 - 8”. Not sure about that yet, but for the summer, ventilation will be appreciated. We’ll see …

The yarn is amazingly pleasant to work with … can hardly wait to get started!

July 20, 2024 Time to Frog

I unearthed this project while looking for some yarn, and thought I can maybe finish it in this year’s Tee MAL.
When I took it out of the bag … shock! This is huge!

I put it over a t-shirt that I currently like to wear. I decided it’s time to frog. I love the yarn and the pattern, but I will never wear a tee with that much ease, which is a confirmation of the concern that I wrote down when I added the last picture.

I will make the pattern again, in size 42 1/2 (based on number of stitches that I currently think are too much), which is close to my actual current bust. I think I will like that much better.

July 25, 2024 Ready to Re-Start

Switching from size 50 1/2 to 42 1/2”.

Looking forward to working with Zinnia again. Even frogging the yarn was enjoyable.

May 18, 2025

I reached the split of Back and Front on my do-over …

I added one more pattern repeat (12 rows) for a little bit more body length.

I also started the last ball of the frogged previous attempt. I will have plenty of yarn leftover, because of making the smaller size, and I’m looking forward to make “something else” with it.

June 23, 2025 All Done (including photography)!

Done, and it is even more rewarding, since this has been such a long project in progress. Re-knitting the Phillipa was absolutely the right thing to do.

The V-neck is correct according to pattern, but I find it a little bit too daring for me, so I crocheted a chain and loosely tied the bottom of the V until I felt comfortable with it. This way it’s still airy but decent (yes, my opinion).

Since I had planned to make a larger size I have some yarn left, and I may make use it to make the body a little bit longer, we’ll see.

Overall … yarn = YES!, pattern = YES, but watch your size and maybe make a few small modifications.

Now, where is that margarita …?!?!?
