WELCOME SPRING! with a garden flag, whether there’s still snow on the ground or not.
The flag is easy to make and will fit a “small” garden flag pole, we used Hobby Lobby’s “Black Metal Garden Flag Pole” (pole length 39”, pole width 17”).
You may substitute any other worsted weight yarn for the suggested yarns. We find acrylics yarn perfect for the purpose because it keeps the shape and will resists some weather influence.
Weave:
(6) hexagons in yellow
(5) hexagons in green
(4) hexagons in blue
(1) hexagon in orange
Assemble the hexagons according to the chart. If you want to connect the “hexagons to rows first, then rows to rows”, please turn the chart on its side.
To work the pole casing, fold the top two blue hexagons into halves as indicated in the photo and secure with some stitches along the bottom side.
Weave in all tails.
