TURTLE Hexagon Pin Loom: Headband

Headband for adult average women's size (21 1/2").

Sample headband made of six 4" hexagons, assembled 'on the bias'.

Two different folding otpions ... start with the position the hexagon comes off the loom ...

... flip the left side to the right as pictured for folding the fabric without stretch.

... flip two corners as pictured towards the corners that have the starting/ending thread to fold the hexagon "on the bias", which will give it more stretch.

Instead of folding the hexagons first, you line them up as shown (here without stretch).

To get the bias right, take a look at the following steps ....

To get the bias right, first connect couples of hexagons side by side as you normally would do when you make rows.

Then shift each of those pairs one side counter clockwise, as shown.

This picture shows all hexagons connected with maximum bias stretch.

Fold hexagons into half and sew along all sides.

At the first/last hexagon, make sure that you don't twist the headband when you close the final opening.
Also, if you want to adjust the length just a little bit, gently stuff one end into the other before you close the opening.

Capri comes in several fun colors.
