TURTLE Hexagon Pin Loom: Lace Baskets

My favorite: The basket easily holds 7-8 HEB Texas Style biscuits.

Bronson lace basket.

Lace weaving in action.

Close-up Bronson Lace.

Close-up Spot Bronson Honeycomb.

Use as keys basket.

Use as notions basket.

Woven hexagons.

Sew lace hexagons to form a row.

Make sure that "right sides" are facing each other when you sew the sides together.

A good method to secure the weaving ends is to pierce the yarn as shown. This prevents the weaving end to pucker the fabric.

Match the little "arches" on the sides where you did the traditional weaving.

Match the little "elbows" on the sides where you did the bias weaving.

Sew the liner hexagons together. You don't have to watch the "right side" on those.

Sew the lace row to the liner row.

Move the tips of the hexagons together as shown, then sew along that side.

This is what it looks like after sewing the tips together.

For the last tip, sew from the tip down two sides as shown.

Sew the tips of the lace hexagons together the same way.

This is the construct that you'll get. At this point, turn the right side out and close the opening.

Push the liner into the basket and secure the center of both layers of the bottom with a tie (like a tie quilt).

Spot Bronson Honeycomb basket.

Enjoy!
