I have wanted to make an itty bitty happypotamus for ages, but to date have been unsuccessful in all my attempts. Working with fine yarn and a really small hook just doesn’t seem to work for me and I get cramps in my fingers almost immediately. I still desperately want a babypot so I am trying to make one with a different motif, DK yarn and a size 2,5mm hook. Its not going to be tiny tiny, but hopefully it will be a lot smaller than the others I have made.

How to make the motif:
I used a super simple motif which made it very quick and easy to put together and it makes a smaller animal.
To make a hexagon,
ch5 and join to form a ring or use a magic ring (whichever is your preferred method)
R1: 12dc in ring
R2: 2dc in-between each dc of previous round
R3: cnr = (dc, ch1, dc) made in-between any two st, dc in-between next 3 st 6x
st count = 5 st per side excluding ch1sp
It’s that simple!
To make:
pentagon: start with 10dc in R1
heptagon: start 14dc in R1
octagon: start with 16dc in R1
