Sadly, yes, you read right. I made this sweater for Chuck and he never wears it. Can you feel the love? “It’s too warm out” or “It’s much too nice to wear” or “I can’t get it to fit over my head”…ugh! Aren’t there just some things that these men are supposed to suck-it up and do?? Maybe he really is too fat-headed for this sweater…So, you love-sick girlfriends out there, don’t knit this for your man unless he puts a nice rock on that hand of yours…and a heavy one at that.

At any rate, the pattern calls for Heilo or Falk, but I wanted mohair, so used Tiur instead. Since the weight was the same, it was an easy trade.

Also, the pattern calls for this crazy two-stitch cable throughout the body. I didn’t care for that, so left it out. From the model photo, it didn’t look like it added much to the overall sweater to be worth the effort. Besides, he doesn’t wear it anyways.

I rated this as a medium difficulty pattern due to the steeks used for the armholes and neck shaping. If you want a nightmare steek story regarding dark thread on dark knitwear, see “Mary’s sweater” and you’ll think twice about mixing wine, a sweater for your “mom-in-law”, and a sewing machine…
