Notes

My favorite part of this cardigan is the way the pockets are stashed in the ribbed hem. I knit it as written, though I added an inch to the ribbed hem and pockets so the cardigan would fall just below my hips. I did the same with the cuff ribbing, which wasn’t necessary , but I like to roll up my sleeves or be able to hide my hands when it is chilly. I love it! The pattern makes the perfect almost coat type cardi that I have wanted for years!
Note on Quarry Yarn: Lovely, ridiculously light weight for the bulk, and so chock full of veggie matter it looked speckled. It really does clean up well with wet blocking, so no need to pick every last bit out, but it is worth considering how much that would bother you and your skin before you invest in it. The yarn does knit up beautifully! I did not have a problem with breakage during the knitting, but I had a hard time trying to use it for longer seams. Brooklyn Tweed’s website suggested using a complementary color plied yarn for seaming, so I used a non superwash Cascade 220 to zip up the arms and pockets.
