I love mine, and wanted to make my daughter one. She is a fabulously tall almost eight year old, so I went for it and knitted the smallest size with a few alterations in length and yoke depth. I used the yoke/body/arm length measurements from the Tin Can Knit’s 1999 sweater (sz 8), but used the width stitch counts from the Camaro pattern.
I started the decreases earlier, as for the 3/4 sleeve instructions to fit her little arms, but made them full length. I omitted one stripe color on the bottom so I could have more room for the main yellow color in her sweater. Her hem is knit in the round without a split.

I almost made them match colors exactly…but she glows in that yellow, and prefers blue to pink. I used the hummingbird palette from the TFA website and had enough leftover for two child sized hats. My daughter asked for the stripey sleeve cuffs, which I love.
