The short row scallops on this pattern caught my eye, they were such a cool knit trick to learn. I wanted a merit badge worthy bind off, and feel like I’ve managed to accomplish something with my life after that 4figure stitch bindoff!
I didn’t follow the pattern for color changes, knit in a modified fade. I just really loved knitting with the dark teal speckle Petrichor, so at the end subbed that for using the lightest white speckle in the palette, so only a few rows are knit with Puffafish. I liked the contrast on the edges, but mainly I just wanted to hang out with my favorite color of the bunch while I did the super duper long rows.
Some folks had issues with bleeding with this yarn so I prerinsed it, but I really didn’t have that much at all. Maybe a fluke with different water chemistry? I used cool water and wool wash, and it really did soak because I was called away and forgot about my soaking project for a bit. The water was only faintly blue, and my light speckles and aqua stayed light.
