I got a lot of help and inspiration from the project pages for my version! I dig customizable / choose your own adventure projects, maybe because there is less fear of getting it “wrong”, as the pattern encourages experimentation.
I tried the yoke a few ways, ended up casting on 132 stitches on my Sz 7 needle and starting at the 3 by 3 rib.
I used the increases as written in KindredRed’s project page for the yoke, really liked the smoother look from her version. I was also inspired by LionessRamping’s project to make a shorter boatnecked yoke. (I did like the German short rows in my original version, very smooth, but ended up skipping the extra depth they gave and knitting a 7 inch deep yoke without them.)
I used Dk/laceweight for the yoke, doubled fingering weight for the rest. I knit to a low hip/ almost tunic length, with no waist shaping, because I am a tunic loving pear shaped person.
I have shorter arms so decreased every seven rows for the sleeves to 44 stitches, and used a sz 6 needle for the wrist ribbing. Since I ran out of yarn I settled on 3 inch cuffs, but if I could snag another skein of that teal Genmou someday I would like to add the hand warmers.
I used a very stretchy cast on for my ribbed neckline, and it went from boatneck to Flashdance in the snow. I added an applied icord to the neckline with a sz6 needle, and it fixed things nicely. I picked up every cast on stitch on the right side facing purl sections, and just two on the knit, and it doesn’t pucker
