Loving this pattern and the yarn is pretty nice too! But YIKES! the color isn’t good with my skintone. Think I’ll be adding some bleach to its first washing to try to lighten it up some, and dye it after that if the bleached tone isn’t acceptable either.

Update: bleach seems to turn things peach, then pink, before they go white.. I beached out this top (originally linen-colored) and a gray tee that got a splash of beach on it ages ago and both turned the exact same shade! You’d have to use a TON of beach to achieve white or cream.

Using spongy’s mods (the ones she actually used, not the ones she said she’d use if she knit it again) for making the arm holes less gaping. BTW, I’d recommend using the normal sized needle (not the smaller one) for the icord edging around the sleeves if you use spongy’s mods, or it might come out too tight!

Added 3 pairs of M1 bust increases on the front every 4th row, starting with the 4th row after joining the front and back in the round and CO underarm stitches. They are located 12 sts in from the front edge (just before the underarm picked up sts.) This should give the top a little more ease, which will be good with the linen blend yarn.

Side shaping can be seen in second to last picture: didn’t follow pattern directions and instead did ssk and k2tog/ m1L and m1R 1 st before or after side markers. Made 3 paired decreases on each side every 7th row for waist shaping, then knit for about 3”, then did 7 paired increases every 7th row for hip shaping. You can also see the bust increases on the left side of the picture near the top.

Finished hem with simple 2 st icord BO, and left the collar plain with the cable CO edge… I think the icord would be too substantial for the lace. We’ll see how badly the hem rolls after I bleach and wash this.

Next time: make a long sleeved version with short row caps at the top of the sleeves, and hem / cuff lace detail like knittingonthet’s.
