Notes

25 March 2025: all finished. I love it. Full stop.

re: the pattern: just magical. one million stars out of 10. If I could charter a plane and go to Dee’s upcoming April workshop at the V&A, I would in a heartbeat.

Measurements: 28” x 29”

Mods:
• needle size
• yarn combo
• casted on odd number of stitches so that selvedge sts are the same. Also did 2-st icord on the sides.
• 161 sts by 202 rows, which meant that I had more space to fill with floral motifs. And so I flipped and rotated and cropped the motifs to fill the space.

yarn:
Base:
A. one strand Silkpaca (VAA) plus one strand Drops kid-silk (19)

Embroidery (one strand):
B. Rowan kidsilk haze (majestic)
C. Knitting for olive soft silk mohair (dark mustard)

random notes: I was overly generous with my yarn tails. Lots of long ends, but none were long enough to be used for Swiss darning. I didn’t embroider square by square. I picked a good starting point for each floral motif and counted rows and columns and then I embroidered one blob at a time.

18 March 2025: calling it. I could keep embroidering but will quit while I’m ahead. It is beautiful. Will have to weave in ends and handwash itonce more. Will post photos soon.

26 Feb 2025: started Swiss darning.

12 February 2025: it’s bigger than 27 x 27. This is why I hate swatching. My swatch tells me one thing, FO says another. Giant sigh.

Also just a note to myself, when doing cable bind-off, just do my regular tension. I did it a tad looser, and the bind off edge looked a little frilly so I redid it. Much better now.

11 February 2025: off the needles.

6 February 2025: casted on while I wait for more yarn to arrive for Under the Midnight Moon.

Target: 27 x 27
Gauge: 23-24 sts by 30 rows with US6
161 sts by 202 rows

Guesstimating 1090 yards total. 545 yds silkpaca, 545 yds kidsilk
