This is a very pretty shade of blue, but I can’t find the skein band, and now I’m not 100% sure that it is Cascade Eco Wool. But it is pretty.

Blocking was an adventure. I soaked this in lukewarm water for at least an hour, then gently squeezed the water out. I pushed all the furniture in the living room out of the way, spread out a white sheet over the carpet, and got to work.

I pinned out the center star until it was flat, then just kept pinning and stretching. I let it dry overnight, but I did keep a fan blowing on it.

I wrapped this for my father’s Christmas present. On Christmas morning, as he was opening it, I told him that he could keep it at his chair and use it to cover up when he gets cold (he has had a stroke and is basically house-bound). Once he opened it, my mother decided it was too pretty to keep at his chair, and she immediately displayed it in the living room on that couch. I told Dad that the next blanket I made him would be an ugly blanket so he could keep it to himself.
