I knew I had to make this lil’ froggo from the second I saw these RIDICOUSLY adorable Reels on Instagram:

I sent these Reels to my daughter she commented “I need this FROG in my life!!”

NOTED!! So I set to making her one for her 21st birthday. The cute factor is off the charts.

Pattern notes and mods:

I went down to US 3s, which is one needle size smaller than the pattern. This was a good idea for fabric density, however the stick on dragon eyes I had ordered (12mm) were sized for the pattern as written, and they looked too big. I ended up gluing on a pair of round eyes (9mm) that I had in my supplies and they looked a lot better on this smaller froggy.

The pattern is ABSOLUTELY brilliant. Knits up very fast. I switched the wrap and turns to German Short Rows, which may not have been the best idea because the “texture” of a wrap and turn is likely an added detail that would have added to the bumpy look.

Also my seaming wasn’t the greatest. I can do better for sure!

The i-cords in the pattern for the arms and legs are so fast to work up. For some reason she instructs to slip the stitches off the right hand needle onto the left hand needle each i-cord row instead of just sliding them to the end of the needle. I’ve worked many i-cords in my time so I just worked them by sliding them to the end of the needle with the right side facing.
