Pattern found in Barbara Walkers Treasury of Knitting Patterns book. BRICKS. Looks harder than it is

When using multicolor for the BRICK and a solid for the mortar, it makes the back extremely interesting and the front almost looks like stained glass.

The pattern calls for knitting garter for the mortar row, but child has touch sensitivity so I am doing SS on those rows so the blanket is totally smooth.
