Cast on with 9s. I love the idea of using scrap yarn, but I also wanted to use this Noro I picked up with the idea of making DS a sweater. I’ll see how far the Ito gets me and either get more or use up other stash yarn.

After finishing the back, I wound up unpicking the provisional CO so that I could switch up the stripes.

Got through both sets of welts and about halfway through the right side/front.

Pro tip: For welts, I found it much easier to pick up the purl bumps with a smaller needle immediately after knitting the row (1 of 8). Then when it was time to welt, I knitted them together off the needle like 3-needle bind-off but without the bind off. Added a photo in case that helps anyone.

Finally finished! I stopped before completing the fronts so that I could have a button band and use those cute star buttons. About 20 stitches. I worked 8 rows in rib while doing garter on the back and shoulders, then switched colors and followed the instructions for the collar, just not as tall.

The i-cord bind off is so fun!

My only change would be not to use Tokonatsu. I like it as a yarn but it’s a strong textural difference vs the other yarns used. If I happen to find some Solo in a similar yellow color, I might redo the collar and sleeves.
