I’m working on a revision of this pattern. I wanted to get the photo of the original doily into the Ravelry database. The one shown on the wooden table was knitted by Pat Stevens, a friend of mine. I’m working on charting out the pattern for myself.

The Coats & Clark version (the one photographed in this project) has 70 rounds, while the presumably original MEZ chart has 68. I have knit the MEZ one and it seems to be identical; I can’t account for the two extra rounds.

Also the sample photographed in the Coats & Clark pamphlet has a very messy-looking edging. I have charted the edging as published and the pattern does seem to be correct (as Pat did it in the photo for this project). It looks like the publisher’s sample knitter made some critical mistakes.
